Según F.A. Stafleu & R.S. Cowan, n.º 18.167 --Wolf, "Genera plantarum [...]" (1781)--, "The monomial nomenclature in code form introduced in these books (i.e. incl. the Gen. sp. pl. below) runs parallel to the Linnaean nomenclature and is alternative to it, not replacing it. The ordinary Latin names of genera in this publication have normal standing in nomenclature, [e.g. Vincetoxicum on p. 130]. Fuchs' statement that the Latin names are merely synonyms of the technical monomials is not supported here. Wolfs parallel nomenclature was intended to obtain a code-designation based on characters (sec the title of the book). See Ross 1966 for an extensive commentary." --R. Ross,"The generic names published by N. M. von Wolf", in Acta Bot. Neerl. 15(1): 147-161 (1966).
